Silverware Haul for J/Crews @ Three Tree Point Race

By: Stu Johnstone

(Seattle, WA)- This past weekend, the first of the three races in the Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle’s Center Sound Series took place- the Three Tree Point Race. A good turnout ensured highly competitive sailing across the board in both the ORC and PHRF Divisions. Here is how it all went down last weekend.

ORC Division
In this eighteen-boat fleet, the top offshore J/Teams in the PNW had a good showing. Winning ORC 3 Division was Jay Renehan & Chris Lanziger’s J/111 HOOLIGAN. Then, in ORC 4 Division, David Schutte’s J/109 SPY HOP took 3rd place, while Dave Miller’s J/99 ONE LIFE ended up 4th place.

PHRF Division
The twenty-one-boat PHRF fleet had a one-design fleet of nine J/105s. Winning was John & Jack Aitchison’s famous MOOSE UNKNOWN, followed by Allen Hughes & Shauna Walgren’s CREATIVE in second place, and Chris Phoenix’s JADED in third place.
